FCA Part 1 Overview
The FCA (Fellowship of the College of Anaesthetists of South Africa) comprises Part 1 and Part 2. Part 2 can only be written after 36 months in a numbered registrar training post, including 3 months in ICU.
Part 1 covers the basic sciences foundation: physiology and chemical pathology, pharmacology, and physics and the principles of clinical measurement and data management.

Sitting limitAll subjects must be passed within a limited number of consecutive sittings - CMSA's own documents disagree (two vs three); confirm the current limit with CMSA before relying on it
