FCD Part 1 Overview
The FCD (Fellowship of the College of Dentistry of South Africa) has three specialty examinations: FCD(SA) OMP (Oral Medicine and Periodontics), FCD(SA) Orthod (Orthodontics), and FCD(SA) Pros (Prosthodontics). Part 1 is standardised across all three specialties.
If a candidate is unsuccessful in one Part 1 subject, credit is given for passed subjects (minimum 50%) and the failed subject(s) can be re-written. This exemption is valid for two examination periods.
